Brenda Fish, 64, left her earthly body on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

Brenda was born on October 4, 1953 in Sonora, TX to Bob Granger and Ora Faye Crites.

She was a dedicated wife to James M. (Jim) Fish of Ozona, Texas.

Her and Jim’s relationship grew strong over their 38 plus years, surviving the many setbacks and pitfalls of life by always seeking out solutions and ever moving forward.

Jim’s love for Brenda sustains him still and reminds him… “it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.”

She was a devoted and adored mama to her three children Cody, Cami and Kyle.

She was also considered a “second mom” to several nieces, nephews, and friends and played an integral part in their early memories and upbringing.

She took great pleasure in watching her boys play football and could be found many Friday nights in the bleachers jumping up and down while cheering them on.

She also enjoyed crafting and would spend countless hours sewing outfits and often stayed up all night creating spirited costumes for her daughter.

She was a remarkable Nanny to all of her grand babies. They often looked forward to spending time at “Nanny’s house.” She was an immaculate housekeeper and made the best fried chicken, apricot pound cake, banana nut bread, chicken-fried venison and sweet tea in Texas.

Brenda was a true embodiment of kindness in her many displays of care and concern for others in all facets of her life. Empathy was her strength.

She never turned away anyone in need, “We may be a little crowded, but we will make it work” and she always did. She made everyone feel welcome in her home.

Brenda was a waitress at Sutton County Steakhouse in Sonora for over twenty years. Later, she cared for residents for over 13 years as a CNA at Crockett County Care Center in Ozona where she retired in 2013.

She was a Christian and attended First Baptist Church of Sonora and enjoyed visiting various other churches throughout her life.

Brenda is survived by her husband Jim, son Cody Bush, and wife Mistie of Grandview, son James Kyle Fish and wife Jackie of Fort Hood, and daughter, Cami Williams of Lewisville.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren Rhett and wife Jaron, Quealy, Grady, Trista, Jayce, Jaelie, Tatum, Taylor and Denton and three great-grandchildren Addison, Jett, and Rylynn.

Additionally, she is also survived by her father, Bob Granger of San Angelo, her loving siblings (known as the “5 Bs” during their school years), twin brother Bobby Granger of Andrews, sister Barbara Boyd and husband Steve of Center, TX, brother Benny Granger and wife Shana of Andrews, and sister Bernice Holder of Montgomery, TX.

She also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her “Mom”, Ora Faye (Crites) Stephens and beloved niece Brittney Granger.

Please join us in honoring her memory on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 4:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Sonora.
