Agapito Espinoza Sentena, 87, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 after a short illness at his home in Abilene, with his devoted and loving wife by his side.

Agapito was born September 20, 1928 in Austin, Texas to the late Guadalupe Espinoza and Jose Sentena.

A native of Sonora and long-time resident of Abilene, Agapito married the love of his life Oralia Ibarra, of Sonora, on November 23, 1952.

Agapito worked 20 years for Gooch Packing Company of Abilene, and another 20 years for the Abilene Independent School District.

He was an active member of St. Vincent Palloti Catholic Church since 1963. Also, he was a faithful Christian family man who will be missed by all that were blessed to know him.

Agapito is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Oralia I. Sentena of Abilene; a granddaughter Nicole Sentena; his great grandchildren Ivan Miguel Maysonet, Harley Morgan and Bianca N. Barrow; a nephew who he raised Jose S. Salcedo; one sister, Dominga Villarreal of Mineral Wells; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Agapito I. Sentena; his sister Narcissa Salcedo and two brothers Jose Vicente Sentena and Jose Pantaleon; and his granddaughter Biance Sentena.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday May 16th at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, with Father Terry Brenon officiating and directed by Abilene Funeral Home.

A burial followed at Sonora Cemetery.
