Danny Meyer, Sr., 80, entered eternal life Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
Danny was born to the late Philip and Mary Meyer in Louisville, KY. A true public servant and a true statesman, Meyer was respected in his community and state.
During the 1970’s Danny served the 8th Ward as an Alderman for the City of Louisville.
Moreover, he held the office of State Senator for the 38th District from 1978 until his retirement in 1994.
In addition to holding office, Meyer retired from International Harvester and served on the Jefferson County School Board. Devoted to his faith, country and family, Meyer was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Meyer is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Mary Theresa Meyer.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Patty Feeley Meyer; sons, Danny Meyer, Jr., and wife, Kimberley, Marty, and wife, Tracie, Tim, and wife, Valerie, and Mike, and wife, Trish.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nichole, Dominic, Jessica, and husband, Dustin, Janna, and husband, Jason, Max, Ben, Dalton, Isabelle, Shelby, and Holly. As well, great grandchildren, Eric and Suvi.
A visitation was held on Monday at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home in Louisville, KY.
A Mass of Christian was held on Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth of Hungary.
A burial followed at St. Michael Cemetery.
