Lila Chalk Cook, age 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2017.

Lila was born in Sonora on January 29, 1928 to loving parents George Delaney Chalk and Clifta Mae Pfeister. 

She was a loving mother and a caring nurse for many years. Lila was also a member of The First United Methodist Church of Sonora. 

She will be greatly missed by all who adored her.

She was preceded by her parents, her precious daughter Alice Ruth Cook and beloved son Delaney "Laney" B. Cook and her siblings George Delaney Chalk, Jr., Maxine "Bitsy" Chalk, Luther Chalk, Barbara Chalk and Rus Chalk

Lila is survived by her sons J.V. and Jesso Cook of Austin and daughter Christa Cook Griffin of Abilene, grandchildren, Alice Lucile Cook, William Delaney Cook, Alice Amanda Cook, Bryan Delaney Cook all of Austin, Sarah Cook Noak of San Antonio, David William Cook of Glen Rose, Alexis Kelsie and Hailey Kay Griffin of San Angelo. 

She is also survived by great-grand children, Luke,  Jeffrey, Kate Louise Noak, Emily Harper Cook and Jaxie Delilah and a sister, Inez Chalk Baldwin of Houston and brother, Philip Chalk of California and Kay Chalk of  Indiana as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends its deepest thanks and appreciation to Kinder Hearts Hospice for their dedication and kindness.
