Barbara Schwiening Halbert passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017.
She was born in Sonora on May 30, 1937 to the late Harold Alfred Schwiening Sr. and Elsie Martin Schwiening.
Barbara graduated from Sonora High School and attended San Angelo Jr. College.
She married the late B.M. “Bud” Halbert III and actively ranched for many years in Sutton County.
She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Barbara was a wonderful, caring person who provided support and comfort for family and friends.
She had relocated to Pensacola, Florida to be with her beloved grandsons.
She is survived by daughter Kidie and two grandsons, Taylor and Parker.
The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people at hospice who treated her with loving care, compassion and dignity.
Barbara will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sonora Cemetery.
A grave side service will be held April 20 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to West Texas Boys Ranch of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
