Juan Manuel Capuchina, 60 passed away August 15, 2020 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas.

He was born on March 21, 1960 in Zaragoza Coahuila Mexico to the late Jesus and Victoria (Rivas) Capuchina. He was the youngest of six children.

He was a resident of Sonora, Texas for 57 years and graduated from Sonora High School in 1980. He then attended Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater, Texas.

Juan then married Maria del Pilar on September 8, 1990 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua. They had a son Juan Luis Capuchina in 1991 and a daughter Mayra Janeth Capuchina in 1998.

He enjoyed watching and supporting the Dallas Cowboys, listening to music, the outdoors, spending time with family, taking care of his dogs Princess and Zoey, making people laugh, and keeping his sweet tooth content. Juan was battling diabetes, and in 2016, he was diagnosed with kidney disease and had been attending dialysis three times a week for four years.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents Victoria and Jesus Capuchina and his sister Antonia Vara.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maria del Pilar Capuchina Tarin, his two children, Juan Luis Capuchina and Mayra Janeth Capuchina, along with brothers Beto and Jesus Capuchina, and sisters Argelia Guerrero and Armandina Gutierrez.

His family will forever remember him as a hardworking, funny, strong, and loving person.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Sonora Cemetery.
