Miguel “Mike” Gonzales, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018, in San Angelo.

Miguel was born April 21, 1933 in Sonora.

Miguel married Maria Arras on October 13, 1954 in Sonora.

He served in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict.

Miguel has been a resident of San Angelo since 1979. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Reece Albert Inc. for over 40 years.

He will be remembered driving up and down the highways moving equipment for construction.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Miguel will always be remembered by friends and family for his charm, wit, pranks and contagious sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo and Virginia Gonzales, a brother, Samuel Gonzales and two sisters, Eulogia Samaniego and Feliz Guajardo.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Maria Gonzales of San Angelo, two sons, Mikel Gonzales of Rowlett, Mario Gonzales and wife Mildred of Midland, two daughters, Martha Acosta and husband Arnaldo of Mertzon and Maria E. Gonzales of Dallas, a brother, Ismael Gonzales and wife Carla of North Richland Hills, four grandchildren, Enrique Gonzales and Rafael Gonzales, both of Rowlett, Gabriel Acosta and wife Andrea of Big Lake, and Marisa Gonzales of College Station and a great grandson, Rhyder Lane Acosta of Big Lake.

A public viewing and Rosary was held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, December 3, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Joey Faylona officiated. Burial followed at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with with military honors afforded by Goodfellow AFB Honor Guard. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
