Veronica “Honey” Salazar

Posted
A Beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother and Tia.

Honey gained her wings on August 30, 2021 at the age of 40 after a courageous battle with COVID, leaving behind her loved ones who will strive to honor her memory by living their lives to the fullest.

18 years ago, Honey met the love of her life, Jose Salazar, since that day they have been inseparable. Soon after they welcomed their son, Santos Salazar. The love between the two is beautifully unconditional.

They made their life to be the role models for all their nieces and nephews and shared their love of travel with them. Going to the water was her favorite, whether the beach or the river, they always had their added kids with them, and those will be the memories we all cherish.

Her hobby of making fruit soon became a community favorite known as La Fruta Loka.

When it came to kids, her passion was quickly put to work for all their school fundraisers without hesitation.

Honey is survived by her husband, Jose Salazar; their son Santos Salazar; her mom Anita Duran; her sisters Angie Torres, Valerie Torres, Brittney Torres, Monica Torres, Laura Garza and Maria Salazar; her brothers Eloy Torres, Domingo Torres, Leroy Torres, David Torres, Dominique Torres, Eloy Emmanuel Torres; lots of nieces and nephews; as well as lots of family.
Honey was preceded in death by her grandparents; Santos and Margaret Duran; Domingo and Diamantina Torres; her dad Eloy Torres; her little brother Ervay Torres.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor in Sonora, Saturday September 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church.
