Bernard C. Dermody, Jr. of Sonora, formerly of Kenedy and Uvalde, passed away on March 28, 2018 at his residence at the age of 88.

He was born on January 31, 1930 in Uvalde to Bernard C. Dermody, Sr. and Ruby Elizabeth Colyer Dermody.

He married Raye Elizabeth Davidson in Uvalde on June 30, 1961.

She preceded him in death in 2014.

He is survived by two sons, Byron Dermody of Kenedy, and Dean Dermody and wife, Donna of Kerrville, two daughters, Terry Brown and husband, Glynn of Soldotna, Alaska, and Dixie Radicke and husband, Herbert of Uvalde, brother-in-law, Roy Young Davidson, Jr. and wife, Randa of Batesville, sister-in-law, Virginia Ann Davidson of Batesville, nephews, Raice Davidson and Raine Hobbs, niece, Ranell Borders, eleven grandchildren, Glynn Brown and wife, Jessica of Port Angeles, WA, Patti Books and husband, Aaron of Soldotna, AK, Desiree Cvek and husband, Benjamin of Harker Heights, TX, Kristin Light and husband, Kincaid of Uvalde, Amber Oberkrom and husband, Trevin of Houston, Holden Radicke and wife, Karla of Uvalde, Colyer Dermody and wife, Maddie of Dallas, Sidney Dermody and Slade Dermody of Sonora, TX, and Blayne Dermody and Brett Dermody of Kenedy, TX and 13 great-grandchildren, Chloe Brown, Kelsie Brown, and Keira Brown of Port Angeles, WA, Emily Books and Brier Books of Soldotna, AL, Ruby Cvek and Brayden Cvek of Harker Heights, TX, Kincaid Light, Davis Light, and Cuate Light of Uvalde, Madeline King of Houston and Pierce Radicke and Riley Radicke of Uvalde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, great-grandson, Cade York Brown and daughter-in-law, Louise Davis Dermody.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Loma Vista Cemetery near Batesville.

Fr. Casey Berkhouse will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Glynn Brown, Sr., Herbert Radicke, Holden Radicke, Colyer Dermody, Slade Dermody, Glynn Brown, Jr., Bodie Davidson, Blayne Dermody, and Brett Dermody.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kincaid Light, Benjamin Cvek, Trevin Oberkrom, and Aaron Books.
