Betty Sue Galloway was born in Rotan, Texas on August 8, 1942 to Charlie Austin and Willie Henderson Galloway. She attended school and graduated in Hamlin, Texas
There she married Kenneth Lawlis and moved to Brownfield, Texas where they lived and raised a family for 25 years.

Betty was a fiercely loyal and independent person who never hesitated to express her feelings. Her greatest joy in life was her family, her friends, and most especially, her grandchildren. She spent many hours cheering them on and attending the events they were involved in.

For the last 12 years of her life, she enjoyed her employment at the Lillian M Hudspeth Memorial Hospital and Wellness Center. The patrons and employees became like family to her and she loved them dearly.

Betty is survived by her son, Mitch Lawlis of Sonora, Texas. Daughter, Lisa and son-in-law Herbie Seaton of Sonora, Texas, grandchildren Tyler and Jackie of Corpus Christi, Chelsea and Andy Stewart of Panama City Beach FL , and AJ and Justys Seaton.

She is also survived by great grandchildren, Jamison and Riley. Betty is also survived by her sister, Jane Boen and husband Darrell and several beloved nieces and nephews. In addition she is survived by her dear friends and chosen family, Bruce and Jerry Card.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marjorie Burnett.
A memorial service will be held in the Love Funeral Home on April 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family would like to offer special thanks to Diana Arteaga, Dr. Will Griffin and the nursing staff who showed her such care and compassion during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betty’s name to the Sutton County Health Foundation.
