Brandon Clay Faris was born March 21, 1978, to parents Kay and Preston Faris in Midland, Texas. He passed peacefully from this life to heavenly glory on Monday, July 11, 2022.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sonora.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of seven months and underwent brain surgery and radiation. The life expectancy for one with this type of tumor following diagnosis and treatment is ten years and Brandon blessed his family with his presence for 44 years.

A resident of Stanton and then Sonora, he graduated from Sonora High School in 2000. Brandon was surrounded by friends who loved him and helped him to grow in both communities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sonora.

He was an active member of the 4-H club and loved exhibiting livestock. His real love however was the white trailer that Big Bob Matthews built for him and he guarded it closely. Try to use it without his approval and you were in big trouble. His participation in livestock shows earned a multitude of beautiful smiles and hugs for his friends and family.

He is survived by his parents Preston and Kay Faris, brother Brian (Reyna), sister Shawna (Justin) nieces Phoebe Rogers, Raylee Faris, Preslee Faris and Jocelyn Rogers and nephew Craddock Faris, Uncles Bobby Bone and David Childress (Debra), Cousins Zane Bone and Amanda Daly, Stacey Wright, Denise and Deanna Childress and a multitude of great uncles and aunts in a loving and supporting family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Vernon and Mary Faris, Milas and Lorena Childress, and Aunts Marilyn Bone and Wanda Barker.

The family wishes to thank the Visiting Angels care group and Hunter Hohensee and the members of the Alvis F. Johnson Home Health & Hospice Care group of Lillian M Hudspeth Memorial Hospital and asks that memorials be given to that agency, the First Baptist Church of Sonora or to the entity of your choice.
