James Taylor Elliott, 66, died September 21, 2018 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Jim was born and raised in Sonora, and was the son of William M. and Margaret Cole Elliott.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother Bill and wife Jane of Austin, brother Al and wife Sandra of Sonora, and sister Martha and husband Alan Stuber of Austin.
Jim graduated from Sonora High School and some of his proudest moments were playing football for the Broncos, particularly the 1966 and 1968 state championship teams and the 1969 state runner up team.
Jim was named to the All State football team in 1969. Jim also played football for Baylor and Texas State University, formerly Southwest Texas State.
Jim liked to cook, was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, and had a great sense of humor.
A graveside service will be held October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sonora cemetery.
