Velma Daigle Cole, age 92, passed away March 8, 2019, at Crockett County Care Center.
Vel was born November 19, 1926. She was the second of eight children.
Vel was raised just outside of Jennings, Louisiana. She met the love of her life Calvin Cole while he was working in Jennings for ARCO and they married April 7, 1945.
They spent several years in many states from the central U.S. to the northwest coastal area.
Upon retirement, they returned to Sonora in 1985.
Vel was preceded in death by her sisters, Yvonne and Vernice, brothers, Will and Ray and granddaughter Sherrie Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter Wanda Brummett of Bowie and son Tim Cole (wife) Kim) of Sonora, grand children Steven Brummett, Cassi Cole and Melissa Matheson, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Church of Christ in Sonora.
Pall bearers are Al Elliott, Bob Brockman, Mark Wilkinson, Johnnie Solis, Tracy Crites and Brett Johnson. Honorary pall bearers are Steve Foster, Bruce Kerbow and John K. Wilson.
Memorials in Vel’s honor may be made to a charity of your choice.
