The 3rd annual Sutton County Ranch Rodeo was a huge success and brought lots of excitement to Sonora Mother’s Day weekend.

A huge thank you to Ernie Kaiser and David Blessing who continue to make this event grow each year and to all the other community members and sponsors who help to make this a great event. There were numerous ranches and businesses from all over West Texas who were very generous with their sponsorship.

Nine teams from all over Texas showed up in hopes to be named the top team after the five events branding, double mugging, doctoring, trailer loading, and the crowds favorite wild cow milking.

The teams that ended up with the best times to make the top three spots were 3rd place Rocker B Ranch, 2nd place S Ranch, and your champion team from Sutton County the Powers Ranch, who dedicated their win to Jimmy Powers.

The top horse was ridden by Ruben Ortiz and the top hand was Daniel Hernandez. The champion mutton buster for the 2nd year was Hux Geistweidt.

The plan is to have this event grow bigger and better each year.
Thank you to all the sponsors and teams that made this year a success.
