Angie Bryant is the new editor of The Devil’s River News. She takes over from Stephanie Richey who left the newspaper to take a position as Director of Nursing at Schleicher County Nursing Home in Eldorado.

Bryant has worked at the paper for more than a year as a production assistant and advertising director. She was previously employed by the DRN from 2012 to 2015.

Randy Mankin, president of Masked Rider Publishing, Inc and publisher of the Devil’s River News said he was pleased that Bryant accepted the position.
“We are excited for Angie and the opportunity she has to take on a new challenge,” Mankin said. “She knows Sonora and the people of Sonora know her. I expect she will do well.”

Bryant is a Snyder native, but has called Sonora home for more than 11 years. She and her husband Curtis have three children. Their son Ashton is a sophomore at Sonora High School while their daughter Kenzee is a 6th grader at Sonora Elementary. Daughter Briana Strickland and husband Chance live in Sweetwater along with three grandchildren. Addison who is 11, Landry age 7 and Mason who is 3.

“I am excited to begin this part of my journey. I look forward to working with the public more,” Bryant said on Tuesday. “It has been a long time coming.”
She is presently secretary of the board for the Sonora Chamber of Commerce and involved with whatever her kids are doing at the moment.
