Sonora Students are preparing for return to school on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Students and parents need to be aware that the mask mandate remains in effect for Sutton County.

To prepare for back to school, families should ensure back packs and masks or facial coverings have been washed and sanitized.

Sonora ISD School Nurse, Pennie Littrell, RN has provided the following district protocols for COVID-19.

• If a student tests positive for COVID-19 before return to school they must be 10 days since the start of symptoms, 24 hours without fever (without use of medication) and symptoms must be improved.

• If a student has been in close contact with a person who has tested positive they must quarantine until day 7, when they can test. If the results are negative and the student is symptom free, they may return to school.

Please contact Nurse Pennie for more information or questions related to the school district’s COVID-19 protocols.
