Eight students spent the week at Howard Payne University Band Leadership Camp. Our two drum majors spent the week learning how to conduct, ice breakers and different exercises that they can bring back to the band. Five of our color guard members spent the week learning different techniques that they can use; they learned some dances within their small groups that they performed at the exhibition on Friday.

One of our leaders also attended when he learned different styles of marching and how to break down each little step on how to teach them. Together all the tracks at the camp put a marching show on the field within the week.

A couple of Sonora students walked away with some awards!

Michael Martinez- “Most Improved in Beginning Color Guard”

Agassi Rodriguez- “Most Improved in Intermediate Color Guard”

All of our amazing students had a great week full of memories and new experiences they can bring home to our band!
