The Sutton County Commissioners met on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. for a special meeting.

The court was called to order by Judge Rachel Chavez- Duran who offered a prayer to begin the meeting.

The only public comment was from commissioner Brockman who offered Judge Chavez-Duran congratulations on her new position.

The commissioners then entered into a brief executive session. Upon opening the meeting to the public, Commissioner Bob Brockman made a motion to name Pam Jones Thorp Sutton County District and County Clerk. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned as there were no further agenda items to discuss.
Judge Chavez-Duran then swore in Mrs. Thorp as the District and County Clerk for Sutton County.

Mrs. Thorp has been serving in the Clerk’s office for 13 years. She has been the Chief Deputy since 2011.

She is a Sutton County Native that is currently raising her children here with her husband TJ Torp.

The next meeting of the Sutton County Commissioners Court will be on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the Sutton County annex building. These meetings are open to the public.
