We’ve said it before- get your boots on and head for the barn!

It’s stock show time in Sutton County!

If you have an opportunity, come by to watch the shows and support our 4-H and FFA exhibitors.

If you missed last week’s edition of the paper, here are some highlights:

At 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 9th, we will offer a “Special Edition” Stock Show which will provide special needs youth an opportunity to sample livestock exhibition.

The event is coordinated by 4-H and FFA member, Madalyn Fisher, and her committee.

This group will be on-site to assist the exhibitors. Come out to cheer on this special group of exhibitors.

The arrival and weigh-in for Friday’s stock show will take place on January 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the 4-H Barns.

Showing of livestock will start at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10th. Show order will be Market Lambs, Meat Goats, Angora Goats, and Swine.
There’s more.

Participants of the photography project will display some of their work. This is in preparation for their competition at the San Angelo Stock show as well as district competition.

There will also be a Pee Wee Show for those in 1st and 2nd grades.

Experienced exhibitors will also be on-hand to guide these young participants through the ring.

It wouldn’t be complete without a concession stand. Barbecue sandwiches, loaded baked potatoes, and loaded nachos as well as desserts and drinks are just some of the items on the menu!

So, come on out, get a bite to eat, and check out the local talent.

If you’d like to hear more or contribute to the stock show, please call the Sutton County Extension Office at 387-3101.

We would be honored to accept your help.
