The Sonora Police Department is investigating the burglary of a local pharmacy that occurred early Monday morning, November 18.

Officers responded to an alarm at Pharm House Drug Co. located at 417 U.S. Hwy 277 N in Sonora at 4:00 a.m. Monday where they found evidence of a break in and theft.

Two individuals, who were caught on video, forced their way into the pharmacy through the front door, according to Chief of Police Jerzy Bider.

They also forced their way through another secure door in the back of the pharmacy and stole undisclosed items, according to Bider.

The individuals were wearing ski masks and gloves to disguise their appearance and any trace of finger prints. Their identities are not known at this time. However, authorities are looking into other details that may help in their investigation.

Bider said a pharmacy in the nearby town of Ozona also occurred Monday morning. It is not known if the two incidents were related.

Additionally, Bider said there was a rash of vehicle burglaries, in which a truck and trailer were stolen, that occurred the week before in Sonora. However, he doesn’t think the two are connected.

The stolen truck was recovered in San Angelo and authorities are still looking for the trailer. Bider said it is important for residents to remove valuable, cash and firearms and lock their vehicles at all times.

Investigations are ongoing onto both matters.
