The Sonora Police Department welcomed a new officer this past Monday, January 6, 2020.

Dariela Hernandez a 25 year-old reserve deputy from Eagle Pass, is the newest member of the Sonora PD task force.

Hernandez received her training in law enforcement from the Middle Rio Grande Law Enforcement Academy in Uvalde where she graduated this past December 2019.

She is a mother of three children and has worked as reserve deputy with Maverick County Constables Precinct 3ab since June 2017.

Hernandez said she is eager to serve and protect the community of Sonora.
