Our Sutton County 4-H and FFA exhibitors have been busy as the Fort Worth and San Angelo Stock Shows have begun.

Though the San Angelo show is not yet complete, we can share a few of the results to date.

Let’s begin with Fort Worth results.

In the Meat Goat contest, Grace Moore placed 2nd with a middle weight, while Kodi Davis finished 9th with a heavy weight.

Meanwhile in market lamb competition, Koda Davis worked into a 5th place finish with a light-weight Dorper, while Grace Moore ended up 6th with a heavy-weight Dorper.

The Fort Worth Breeding Sheep contest found Lane Cahill with a 1st place Spring Ewe Lamb that competed into a Reserve Champion banner.
Lane also had a 2nd place Aged Ewe.

Carson Cahill took a 2nd with a Fall Ewe Lamb, a 4th with a Yearling Ewe, and 3rd with an Aged Ewe.

The San Angelo Stock Show has begun and we have results from the opening weekend of competition.

In the sheep barn, Koda Davis had a 10th place light-weight Dorper, while Grace Moore’s 2nd place heavy weight was awarded the Reserve Champion Dorper banner.

Grace Moore also enjoyed a 5th place finish with a heavy-weight mediumwool lamb.

Breeding sheep results are not complete as of this writing.

The goat barn was also a buy place as Kodi Davis finished 8th with a heavy weight goat.

Better yet, Kodi Davis won the Grand Champion Wether Doe title, while sister Koda followed up with Reserve Champion in the same contest.

It is very early in the stock show season, so stay tuned.
