For the second consecutive year, the Sonora Broncos 11-1, 4-1, defeated the Farwell Steers in the Area playoff round of 2A Div 1 football. The Bronco defense played lights out the majority of the game and keyed on Farwell’s rushing attack, which this season consisted of Corey Stancell and quarterback Jonathan Armstrong. The Broncos limited Stancell to 31 yards on six carries and one touchdown. Armstrong had to run for his life most of the second half of the game and gained 65 yards. Farewell, Farwell.

United Parcel Service (UPS) announced recently that it is scaling back delivery and pickup service to some rural and remote communities. One of those is Sonora. The tenth ranked Sonora Broncos stayed undefeated with a 39-13 dominating victory over longtime rival Eldorado Friday night on the road at Larry Mitchel Stadium. The two schools first met in 1922.
