Hector was called home by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday September 12, 2023. He was 75.

He was born on April 4, 1948 to his parents Alfredo and Marcelina Sanchez. He attended school in Sonora and graduated in 1966. After high school he attended college in Lubbock, Tx. His college career was cut short due to him being drafted at the age of 18. He served his country bravely during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war he met and married the love of his life Carmen Sanchez. They settled in Sonora and built their forever home from the ground up. There they raised their three children.

Hector and Carmen traveled all over the country attending Vietnam Veteran reunions. They enjoyed spending their time at various Casinos.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Sanchez, his two sons Adrian Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, only daughter Melinda Castañeda and husband Osbauldo B. Castañeda Jr.

His legacy will be carried on through his grand children and great grand children.

Grand children include: Austin Castañeda and wife Krysti Castañeda; children Kade Castañeda, Korbin Castañeda, Casen Castañeda, Camila Castañeda.

LeAndra Reed and husband Dillion Reed; children Avery Reed, Reese Reed

Timothy Ramos and fiancé Alex Pereira, Abby Ramos; daughter Layla Flores, Hope Sanchez, Madison Mayfield, Logan Mayfield, Nate Sanchez, and Waylon Sanchez.

Hector was preceded in death by his parents; Alfredo and Marcelina Sanchez and sister; Alma Sanchez Perez.

A viewing and rosary will be held at Love Funeral Home in Sonora, on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Welcome & Visitation with the family will be held at 7:00 PM.

His celebration of life and funeral service will be held at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Sonora, Texas on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM with graveside service to follow.

Pallbearers will be Austin Castañeda, Osbauldo “B” Castañeda, Timothy Ramos, Harvey Sepeda, Anthony Sanchez, and Dillion Reed.

The Sanchez family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and kinds words during this difficult time.

Hector (Grandpa Duck) will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his family, his support of Donald Trump.
